On Thursday 19th June 2025, PPS Chartered Accountants will host their PPS Business Charity Breakfast.

This popular event offers a fantastic opportunity for local business professionals to network, enjoy a delicious full English breakfast, and engage in inspiring discussions, all while supporting a worthy cause.

The upcoming breakfast will feature Dave Taylor, Managing Director of Crofton Beam Engines, who will share the fascinating history of the world’s oldest working beam engines, still housed in their original location in Marlborough. 

The engines, dating back to 1812, played a crucial role in transporting goods between London and Bristol. Today, Crofton is maintained entirely by volunteers who dedicate their time to keeping this remarkable site running. We’re excited to hear their story and inspire new generations to appreciate and support our heritage.

Dave will also discuss the volunteer opportunities available at Crofton, the importance of STEM education in preserving history, and the current fundraising efforts to maintain the site’s Georgian architecture and infrastructure.

All profits from the event will go to Crofton Beam Engines.

Tickets cost £18 plus VAT and a small booking fee.

There will also be a fun raffle at the event, supported by PPS and other businesses.  Raffle tickets will be sold on the day for £5 each with some amazing prizes, and all proceeds will go directly to Crofton Beam Engines.
