Funding Fit is a mini-course over a period of three weeks, run by artist & curator Simon Poulter, looking at all aspects around submitting a successful funding application.

Please note there are three dates in this mini-course and you must commit to all three sessions in order to book onto the course (we can only show the first date on the booking system)

Funding Fit is part of CAMP's emergency support programme for CAMP members and is FREE! Please note you must be a CAMP member to book onto this course.

Session 1: Devising the project - Tuesday 6 October,  6pm - 7.30pm
In this session we talk about how to devise the project from ground up. We'll draw up a one pager describing the project, then we'll assess the goals of the funding programmes we are targeting. This session goes into detail on how to turn a project into a fundable proposition. We will discuss scoping the project, first draft budget and creating partnerships. This session incorporates a Q&A.

Session 2: Funding alignment - Tuesday 13 October, 6pm - 7.30pm
In this session we look at how a proposed project goes from a draft, to one that aligns with funding goals and outcomes. This will include an overview of Arts Council England’s new ‘Lets Create’ programme outcomes. We will assess how this breaks down into individual R&D opportunities, along with medium and large scale bids for larger scale programmes. We will look at match funding and partnership development as well. This session incorporates a Q&A.

Session 3: Preparing a budget and meeting compliance requirements - Tuesday 20 October, 6pm-7.30pm
This session concentrates on writing a budget for your project. Payments to yourself, your collaborators, insurance for public facing works, health and safety and evaluation will all be addressed. We will also look at why bids fail and the importance of ‘follow up’ contact when funding is not awarded. We will also look at finer details of filling out the form on Grantium and a few tricks to make the process easier! This session incorporates a Q&A.

Simon will also be offering 1 hour one-to-one funding surgeries (12 in total) in late November (date to be confirmed) for CAMP members with completed draft funding applications. We expect these sessions to be very popular.
