The Three Tenors at Sala Umberto Theatre

May 29, 2020 at 08:30 — 08:30 (EDT)

THE SHOW

Alessandro Fortunato, Francesco Fortes and Stefano Sorrentino, the interpreters who performed over 500 sold-out concerts in Sorrento from 2015 to date, present a show that has never been staged at the Sala Umberto Theatre in Rome: "The Three Tenors: Opera Arias, Naples and Songs". A concert that will surprise the audience not only for the great artistic value and technique, but also for the perfect interaction between the three young artists. The secret of their triumph? Not only the vocal performances and their ability to engage the audience, but, above all, the flair and passion that are typical of Neapolitans: «Before being artists – Sorrentino, Fortes and Fortunato say – we are easy-going young men who adore being in touch with our audience. That is our strength». With their spontaneity, Stefano, Francesco and Alessandro often turn the concert programme upside down.

THE PROGRAMME

Inspired by the popular format of the three tenors L. Pavarotti, P. Domingo and J. Carreras, the first part of the music programme ranges from the greatest opera arias by Puccini, Verdi, Donizetti and Leoncavallo to famous songs like Granada by Agustín Lara. During the second part, we are taken to the land of Naples by the notes of Di Capua, De Curtis, and other illustrious Neapolitan composers. Along with them, the programme includes the interpreters of the Italian song tradition that has become a classic. There is Dalla, who left “a piece of his heart” in Naples as he wrote his song Caruso. There is Modugno with In the Blue, Painted Blue. The Three Tenors are accompanied by the Opera e Lirica Orchestra, with the First Violin Elvin Dhimitri.
