West End Sessions featuring Susan Rigvava-Dumas

Sep 10, 2019 at 18:00 — 22:30 (BST)

Over 15 years ago, when Daniel set out from Australia in pursuit of his career abroad, he knew little of his multi-talented relatives, on the other side of the pond. With a surname like Koek, Daniel's Dutch heritage led him to the Netherlands for a year, to be coached by an esteemed vocal tutor at the Conservatoire in Amsterdam, as one of the youngest members of the chorus, in the touring opera company at that time. It was here that Daniel learned that two of his cousins were both in the arts...one an awesome Ballet Dancer and the other a formidable singer in both Opera and Theatre.

Daniel and Susan had never met before, bring born and raised at completely different parts of the world, until Daniel came to London to start his career and contacted Susan. After they met, at a production of Phantom of the Opera in Stuttgart, where Susan was playing the role of Madame Giry, a family bond and friendship was ignited and they soon discovered they had both gone down the same paths of musical performance. This West End Sessions is a very special moment for them both, and will mark the first time they perform together, something they have talked about for many years.
