Most people eat emotionally from time to time. Despite what society (mostly social media and women's magazines that is) tells us, it IS normal! Emotions are NORMAL. Eating them sometimes is fine. Doing it all the time is a sign your body could do with a helping hand.

We are busier than ever before, so stress and tiredness are factors, as are hormones. So it CAN be a tricky thing to manage.

Using food (or wine) when we feel negative emotions is a sign that your body is trying to do its best to help you cope!

I have helped many women who associated emotions and comfort eating as entirely negative. They felt they should be able to control their appetite, hunger and cravings and by not doing so, was a sign of weakness. 

I helped them understand WHY they ate emotionally. Through identifying their PERSONAL TRIGGERS, they were able to put in place a range of strategies that didn't involve talking badly or feeling guilty about themselves.
