CONFLICT ANALYSIS AND INTERVENTION STRATEGIES Gender Inequalities among Vulnerable Groups

May 10, 2019 at 09:30 — May 12, 2019 at 17:30 (CEST)

Training information

The 3-day training aims to provide a comprehensive, clearly defined and easily understandable structure of analyzing conflicts and planning strategies to address gender inequalities among vulnerable groups, especially refugees.

It aims to develop the skills and competencies of those who are active in aid organisations and ensure that they acquire adequate preparation to analyse conflicts and choose the most adequate intervention strategies. In this sense, this training extends to those who are willing to help others but feel the need or the willingness to take a step further and learn professional skills.

This training shall not be considered as confined exclusively to emergencies, or large scale conflict situations, but it provides also a way of looking at conflicts in everyday life.

Expected outcomes

At the end of the training, participants should be able to understand the complexity of conflict situations and prepare for fruitful, effective and sustainable solutions to address gender inequalities among vulnerable groups.

The training would also offer a good preparation for all the young people and young professionals with limited experience who are looking to commit themselves to work or volunteering experiences in Europe and abroad. While we think often that doing good to other does not require specific kills except for having a good heart, volunteers and aid workers encounter unexpected situations that go beyond their capacities.

This training aims to give them the possibility to understand the problematics connected to a certain conflict and choose the most effective and reasonable solution. Although further training would be required in order to work in the humanitarian field as a professional, this training would be the first step towards that goal.

Furthermore, this training is an asset for those who want to work in the humanitarian aid field at a later stage and can prove to have acquired the basics of the conflict analysis by showing the certificate and their acquired preparation in the field. Especially for those who aim to do a Masters’ degree in the areas related to human rights and humanitarian field, this training would enrich their preparation.
