Saturday Afternoon – Vegas Shootdown

12:00 Registration Opens. 13:00 Assembly. Break at 3 Doz 14:30. Awards 18:15

USA Style Vegas Round followed by a top 7 Shootdown, with a Joker Round.

5 Dozen arrows at 18m Distance on an AGB Vegas face (All Archers - 40cm Triple Special)

Scoring as per OBA Variant. (See separate OBA rule sheet)

Larger 27/64” arrows are permitted. Two details AB/CD, four faces per target. First 2.5 dozen AB top faces, Second 2.5 Dozen CD shoot on the top faces. 

Music will be playing throughout (including shooting) 

Flip number score boards and Electronic Scoring will be used.

Wall of fame for any “clean” 300 scoring target faces.

Only recurve and compound awards will be issued – (barebow and Longbow may compete as Recurve)

Though no formal equipment inspection is necessary, a Judge/Referee may inspect an Archers equipment at any point throughout the competition.

Top 7 from RM, RW, CM, CW will go through to a shoot off (not head to head) 

- £75 voucher prize for each category.

Joker Round: Everyone shooting has the chance of winning the 8thSpot by shooting against all the other Archers who did not qualify in the top 7.

The shoot-off will be shot as followed:

• There is no practice end
• A single arrow will be shot on a spot of choice scoring regular scoring mode for each round, first round eliminates any Archer outside the Recurve 9, next round Recurve 10 etc.
• All archers tied for maximum score in the final round will shoot again scoring (CP X-9-9-8-7-6 & RC X-10-9-8-7-6)
• The archer with the closest to center will advance to the final shoot-off.

Saturday Evening - Nerves of Steel 

Warm up is available in the hall for 30 minutes from 19:00 - 19:30 at 18m Targets

At 19:30 the Arena will close for reconfiguring ready for the Competition

Double detail for the first round, shooting a SINGLE arrow at a target faced with a steel plate with an aperture the size of an 8,9,10 and Compound 10 ring. 

No archer will enter the target area to retrieve arrows. The field party will retrieve and inspect arrows. If there is any damage to an arrow, including on the side of the shaft, the Archer is eliminated.

Once all Archers have shot, the remaining Archers with undamaged arrows will continue to the reduced size. Shooting arrows at steel plates could be dangerous - the tournament organiser will make all reasonable efforts to ensure the safety of both spectators and competitors involved - however a damage waiver will be required prior to shooting.

The Arena has plenty of space for spectators and refreshments are available throughout the evening.

Music with be playing and both film cameras and photographers will be photographing the competitors whilst shooting.

The Hampshire Court Hotel has provided rooms at a discounted rate. There are other Hotels available within a short distance. However, the host hotel has the following offer:

Special rate of £95 Bed and Breakfast -  single/double or twin occupancy on the Friday Night and the same rate is available for the Saturday Night.

Sunday - the SCAS Championships 2018

Comprising of a WRS Combined round. WA25 in the morning followed by a WA18 in the afternoon.

WA25 

Registration from 08:15

Equipment Inspection from 08:30 or earlier if judges available.

25m - 5 Dozen round. All archers will shoot two Archers to a face, two faces per Target, four Archers per target.

Compound and Recurve Archers to shoot on vertical triple 60cm faces. Barebow and Longbow on a Single face.

Practice will comprise of 2 ends.

Timing - Ends of 3 arrows shot in 2 minutes, double detail (AB followed by CD alternating)

End of scoring expected 12:50 - Lunch break.

WA18

18m - 5 Dozen round. All archers will shoot one Archers to a face, four faces per Target, four Archers per target.

Compound and Recurve Archers to shoot on vertical triple 40cm faces. Barebow and Longbow on a Single face.

Practice will comprise of 2 ends.

Timing - Ends of 3 arrows shot in 2 minutes, double detail (AB followed by CD alternating)

End of scoring expected 17:00 including a 3-dozen break,
