This is a gypsy jazz band that captures the essence of the Hot Club de France, giving new voice to the legacy of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli.

 

As well as two deft guitarists, who alternate the lead and rhythm responsibilities, and the traditional Double Bass, MJQ  provides the "Grappelli" magic through the rich, versatile sound of a classically trained violinist. The result is an ability to provide a generous range of music, that includes jazz classics, bossa novas, swings, contemporary ballads and the occasional flinty-eyed tango.

 

These musicians are superb! The addition of the violin played by a real virtuoso and stunning guitar playing makes this band one not to be missed!
