“Hyper-detailed, hyper-rewarding works” – It’s Nice That

The mesmeric visuals of Supermundane have become an instantly recognisable feature of the contemporary design landscape.

His signature geometric drawings, known for their playful use of colour, line and optical effects, have been commissioned for almost every kind of setting. Whether he’s designing the cover of a Penguin book, collaborating on a bespoke rug for Made.com, or building a site-specific installation for the community of Great Ormond Street Hospital, Rob’s work is always infused with his distinctive humour and hyper-colourful imagination. Prolific in output, with a portfolio spanning almost 20 years, his work has been published and exhibited worldwide.

Clients include: Apple, Arts Council England, Leeds Train Station, V&A, HP, *Wallpaper, Made.com, Penguin, American Express, Dolby Sound and Liberty of London.

What

The evening will start at 7:00pm with a update from PDF founders Darren and James on whats been happing since the last event within the design community in Plymouth and the surrounding area. Mark from G.F Smith will also be in attendance and will be able to field any questions you may have for him regarding their latest collection. A short intermission will follow to allow for a comfort break and, or, to get refreshments. Rob will then start his first real life talk in the last two years! He will be talking about his varied 25+ year career, what he has been up to for the past two years and what he is thinking the future might hold. Plus lots of other ‘nonsense and singing’ too! Finally there will be a short Q&A session with Rob, which will finish around 9:45, when all are encouraged to frequent the bar and socialise.

The ticket includes one free drink on arrival and a slice of pizza as the evening unfolds. Additional food can be ordered from the bar if you wish, the bar will remain open all evening accepting cash and card payments.

Thanks to Colossal there will be a limited run of the famous PDF screen-printed beermats to take away. With special thanks to Rob, G.F Smith and Digital Print Bureau at Plymouth College of Art, a limited edition Risograph print on various shades of Colorplan will also be given to each person in attendance, signed and stamped by Rob.
