Path Dependency, Resilience and Leverage Points: transition, disruption and economic change
Nov 3, 2021 at 12:00 — 17:00 (GMT)
Given what we know about path-dependency have we been minimising the extent of disruption needed to change economy to work for people and planet?
Do complementary leverage points hold out the promise of transitioning without significant disruption (and what do we mean by that?)
An informal semi-structured conversation and workshop with Schumacher Institute Director Ian Roderick and Icelandic Professor of Sustainability Vala Ragnarsdottir.
- Ian will provide input on path-dependency, resilience and the need for adaptability
- Vala will discuss the system leverage points typology of Donella Meadows and how this applies in changing economy
The format will be a combination of input and conversation between the presenters, with small group work for in-person participants, and a final Q & A with the presenters.
We will start with a brown bag (bring your own) lunch at 12 noon and there will be a tea break mid-afternoon
