Our Gold Coast training centre is located on the busy Currumburra Road in Ashmore, making it a perfect location for anyone from Labrador, Nerang, Southport, Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Mermaid Beach and Burleigh Waters.

Our training centre has: Free onsite parking & great public transportation options, air-cond and convenient facilities (cool water fountain, fridge to keep your lunch etc).

Course content

  • Emergencies:
    - Asthma, anaphylaxis, seizures, heart attack (including CPR & usage of AEDs), stroke, diabetes

  • First aid management:
    - How to handle shock, bleeding, burns, fractures, head & spinal injuries

  • Poison & allergic reactions:
    - Snake, spider bites etc, allergic reactions

  • Managing heat and cold conditions:
    - Dehydration, heat exhaustion, heatstroke, hypothermia

  • First aid procedures & reporting:
    - Verbal instructions and Incident report writing

Course entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements to complete a first aid course, anyone can attend and complete the training. You must however bring Photo identification and your Unique Student Identifier (USI) to the training.

You also need to have basic English Language, Literacy and Numeracy Skills (AQF level 1). Find out more on LLN levels here: https://www.aqf.edu.au

Are Tradie Training courses Nationally Recognised?

Yes, all our courses are nationally recognised and you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment recognised by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Our registered training organisation (RTO) number is 45555. View our registration on training.gov.au

How much does a first aid course cost?

The first aid course comes at a flat price of $99. This includes everything, from the online theory to the practical workshop and the issuing of the certificates.

How long does it take to complete the course?

The total course duration is 8 hours. 4 hours can be completed online in a self-paced manner. The remaining 4 hours have to be completed at our Gold Coast training centre (practical assessment).

When will I receive my first aid certificate?

Your certificate will be issued on the day of your practical workshop, no waiting required! You will be issued Statement of Attainments for the following accredited unit of competencies by completing our first aid course:

  • HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)

  • HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support

  • HLTAID011 Provide First Aid - View training package

HLTAID011 certificates are valid for 3 years. HLTAID009 must be refreshed every 12 months.

What if I don't have a USI?

USIs can be created for free using the government USI portal: https://www.usi.gov.au

If you run into issues with your USI, no need to worry: Our staff will be able to assist on the day of training.
