Orienteering

May 8, 2020 at 19:00 — 21:00 (BST)
Organiser: Yarnwhispering

Charlie Markwick is a storyteller and poet he lives in Gloucester.

Join him as he relives his journey. Listen as he navigates the challenges of caring for his wife, who had Dementia. Be there as he charts his first halting steps into a new world of grief and loss.

You can expect to find sadness as you accompany him, but you may well stumble across smiles and joy too.

So many of us will experience dementia close at hand in our lives. If you are caring for a loved one, or have friends or family doing this then Orienteering will offer you insights and strategies that will help you understand the challenge.

There will be a chance to share your thoughts and observations and ask questions after the performance.

This performance is taking place at the invitation of the Bookshop East Grinstead a truly wonderful place. Relax amongst a cornucopia of written words and listen to something very special. To quote one of the many people who were moved by the show:-

"An extraordinary, humbling and beautiful performance. By turns heart breaking and irresistibly beautiful. This is amazing. An over-used word in our society but I genuinely believe this can change the lives of the carers and loved one of the carers" - Nigel Edwards
