ADVANCED TRIZ

Oxford Creativity will show you how to be innovative and solve your problems systematically with TRIZ.Participants learn to use all the tools and processes to create solutions to difficult problems.

TRIZ is the science of creativity derived from all scientific and engineering solutions. TRIZ is a problem-solving toolkit; the principal TRIZ tools direct us to find all the ways of solving a problem, to find new concepts and the routes for developing new products.

Innovation and Creativity Tools

These TRIZ tools for effective creative thinking complement most company problem-solving toolkits. They are simple to use and effective in producing creative breakthroughs

Function Analysis

This is the TRIZ discipline for mapping systems with problems by listing all the components and all their interactions. TRIZ Function Analysis differs from other tools in that it includes all the negative, ineffective and excessive interactions in the system. Function Analysis links with other popular problem-solving tool-kits like Value Engineering, Six Sigma and Lean Sigma.

Trimming

Once the problems have been identified from the Function Analysis diagram the first step is to simplify the system using the Trimming Rules. Often this step will eliminate problems and reduce the cost.

Standard Solutions

This is a simple but comprehensive list of all recorded solutions in the patent database.

Defining What We Want

  • Ideality – all the Benefits, Costs and Harms

  • Ideal Outcome / System

  • Understanding Requirements - Benefits

  • Selecting the Right Features to Deliver the Right Benefits

  • Systems Available to Deliver Benefits & Constraints

The TRIZ technique of the Ideal Outcome helps us break psychological inertia and define what we really want which is the first step in effective problem-solving.

Thinking in 'Time and Scale'

Seeing the whole picture is essential for good problem-solving. TRIZ offers simple and quick tools to sort complex information to understand the relevant areas

Once you have completed the Advanced TRIZ workshop you become a TRIZ Champion. If you solve a problem using TRIZ, and write a case study on it which is published on the TRIZ website, you become a TRIZ Problem Solver.
