COMBINING SHOCKWAVE THERAPY WITH LOADING PROGRAMMES - PLANTAR FASCIITIS & LOWER LIMB TENDINOPATHIES

A Practical based Course covering; shockwave principles, patient selection, evidence base, alongside implementing tendon loading programmes. Novice and experienced users welcome. The majority of the day will be centred around using a Radial device by STORZ with some additional demonstration with Focused Shockwave (with support from Venn Health Care). Users of  alternative manufacturers welcome.

This course is suitable for health care professionals including physiotherapists, osteopaths, sports therapists, podiatrists and GP’s. Prior experience in shockwave therapy is not essential for this course.

Learning Objectives:

  • Introduces Shockwave Therapy as an evidence-based application for chronic tendinopathy and long-term soft tissue pathologies.
  • Mechanisms, Indications and Contra-indications
  • Clinical reasoning and Rehab Progression in the management of  Plantar Fasciitis and Chronic lower limb tendinopathy
  • Explore effectiveness and current evidence of shockwave and how to integrate into usual therapy management and loading programmes.

James Wolledge is an experienced Osteopath, Shockwave Specialist & Clinic Director. Heading a team of Physiotherapists, Podiatrists/Foot Surgeon and Sports Therapists to deliver integrated best evidence care for a range of MSK conditions. Specialising in; Chronic and complex pain conditions, Tendon Problems, Plantar Fasciitis, Biomechanics, Running Injuries and Shockwave Therapy.

Benoy Mathew is an experienced physiotherapist practising since 1998. Having specialised in musculoskeletal care, he works as an MSK Extended Scope Practitioner in the NHS and also in private practice. He has developed a special interest in treating complex lower limb pathologies, running injuries and chronic hip and groin patients. The majority of his private caseload is made up of recreational runners and overuse lower limb injuries. He is also involved in training and designing screening programmes for various client groups in private practice.
