Our cause: The Primrose Foundation

The Primrose Foundation is your local breast charity, if you or I or one of our family members was diagnosed with breast cancer, the services you would use and receive would be that of those that the Primrose Foundation help to fund. We simply are a local charity, supported by local people, for local people.

As a charity we work in partnership with the local NHS towards developing better care pathways and improved experiences for those patients receiving treatment. We support advances in technology, education and research, and help to provide support for patients and their families. We help fund vital equipment and resources for the Primrose Breast care centre, as well as other key departments that also provide essential care and support for anyone receiving breast care at University Hospitals, Plymouth. We also support the National breast-screening programme and with Plymouth City Council, we support the screening centre at the Guildhall. We also support the mobile screening vans that serve our wider community.

Sadly breast cancer is very common in women and as many as 1 in 8 people are affected directly or indirectly by this disease. We are doing our best to make inroads into that by early diagnosis, and by offering the very best range of available treatments. Statistically approximately 22,000 men & women walk through the doors of the Primrose Breast care centre every single year.
