Stories for inspiring women

Join us for a night of stories and conversation designed to bring together, challenge and inspire high performing women like you.

We'll hear from three speakers from three different worlds, each of whom has stepped up to new adventures and will share the lessons they have learned.

Tickets strictly limited to enable conversation, not crowds.

Meet the speakers

  • Johanna Schwarz, documentary film-maker: Recently named one of the Top 100 Global Thinkers by Foreign Policy Magazine, Johanna joins us to share the behind-the-scenes story of her latest feature film, which took her to Mali to explore the impact of the nationwide ban on music. The film opened to critical acclaim at SXSW – “Miraculously Hopeful” said the The New York Times and “Essential viewing” said Dazed. She is an international public speaker focusing on overcoming obstacles as a female filmmaker.

  • Dr Elizabeth Bruton, scientist and historian: As the Curator of Engineering at London's Science Museum, it's Elizabeth's job to educate the world about Britain's engineering history — including the often forgotten role of women. She joins us off the back of just publishing a paper on the life of suffragette and inventor Hertha Ayrton, and will share Hertha's story of blazing a trail for women in science.

  • Catherine Edsell, expedition leader and explorer: An RGS fellow with 20 years of experience leading expeditions across Indonesia, Africa and the Himalayas, Catherine has recently founded The Matriarch Adventure designed to guide women into the wild outdoors. She is a best-selling author and TEDx speaker, and will share her story of integrating family with adventurous living.
