COURSE DESCRIPTION

Food Hygiene Course is designed for employees who work in an environment that deals with food. It teaches comprehensive principles of good food handling practices to anyone who is a food handler in an environment where food is prepared, stored or cooked. This Level 2 Food Hygiene Course is delivered over a 5-hour session and assists with meeting Food Safety Act of 1990; a variety of food safety / hygiene regulations including those introduced in 2006; and the Food Information for Consumers Regulation. This enables Food Businesses to ensure that food handlers are trained in food hygiene and food safety in a way that is appropriate to the work they do and enables them to handle food safely and hygienically. This food safety course is designed to allow candidates to understand and comply with the latest legislation and their legal obligation for catering training to ensure that food is prepared, cooked and handled in a safe and hygienic manner to comply with food hygiene standards.

  • Legal requirement with regard to food hygiene and safety
  • Result and consequence of poor food hygiene practices at work and at home
  • Causes of food poisoning
  • Food poisoning symptoms
  • Good personal hygiene
  • Correct food handling and preparation at work

Level 2

Upon successful completion of the session questionnaire

The objectives of the qualification include supporting a role in the workplace and giving learners personal growth and engagement in learning.
