Bath Strings Academy: Deeds Not Words
Nov 11, 2018 at 10:00 — 16:15 (GMT)
Deeds Not Words
Join us as we get creative with composition and improvisation in a workshop for string players with the brilliant Scordatura Women's Music Collective. We will mark the centenaries of the end of World War 1 and women gaining the right to vote, exploring the power of music to move, unite and inspire.
During the workshop, we will play music written by women composers as well as creating music of our own, guided by fantastic cellists Rachel Watson and Corinna Boylan.
"Scordatura Women's Music Collective is a mixed chamber ensemble dedicated to performing music written by women. Our repertoire reaches back to the 16th century, and also encompasses contemporary and world music. We are comitted to promoting music written by women which has been unfairly neglected; to support and perform current composers; and to inspire the next generation of women to compose." www.scordaturawmc.com
