Adele Fans vs Booking Fees

Last week, singer-songwriter Adele was forced to cancel her final shows at Wembley Stadium after having vocal difficulties.
As if Adele’s fans weren’t disappointed enough, some of them having found out the gig was cancelled on the day, the ticket provider Eventim stated they would not be refunding the booking fees paid by the would-be attendees. For one ticket, this was around £5.50, which is high enough but for those who’d bought multiple tickets, this would add up to over £30.

The ticketing company, based in the UK, stated booking fee refunds would not be available because they’d successfully provided their ticketing service.


Of course, once Eventim had experienced the angry reactions of several thousand Adele fans, they backtracked and said all fees would be refunded because of the “short notice” of the cancellation. This of course, isn’t the case. Eventim had to refund the booking fees because of the PR storm they were the centre of.

We’ve previously discussed our dissolusion with ticketing companies offering refunds as “good will gestures” or as if refunds are an outside-the-box feature to behold.
